The Parliamentary Assembly’s resolution addresses the urgent need to combat social dumping and labour exploitation, which jeopardise the European social model and fundamental rights in all Member States. Emphasising the importance of social justice and the European Social Charter, the document highlights the harmful effects of labour exploitation on vulnerable workers, including migrants, and stresses the need to adhere to international standards such as the ILO’s Decent Work Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It calls for the strengthening of national legal frameworks, the protection of whistleblowers, the empowerment of labour inspectorates and the promotion of fair wages and conditions in order to eliminate exploitative practices. Furthermore, the resolution encourages cross-border collaboration, strict regulation of employment agencies and corporate accountability with regard to respect for socio-economic rights. Member States are invited to review their national legislation in line with international commitments, promoting comprehensive approaches to safeguard workers’ rights.
