PACE President makes working visit to Morocco

Theodoros Rousopoulos, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make a working visit to Morocco on 29-30 April.

In Rabat, he will meet the Speakers of the two Houses of the Moroccan Parliament, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other members of the government.

On 30 April, Mr. Rousopoulos will give an opening address at a conference organised by the Moroccan Parliament and PACE, on the theme “Migration and climate change: which relationship?”. This conference, which will be held at the Moroccan Parliament, will include the participation of parliamentarians and officials from both Chambers of the Moroccan Parliament, as well as members of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons and the Parliamentary Network for a Healthy Environment.

This final conference closes the project “Support for the development of the role of the Parliament in consolidating democracy in Morocco 2020-2023”, financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.

Theodoros Rousopoulos, PACE President, Rachid Talbi El Alami, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Enaam Mayara, Speaker of the House of Councilors, and Patricia Llombart Cussac, Ambassador of the European Union to Morocco, will make a press briefing on Tuesday 30 April at 11.30 am at the Moroccan Parliament.
