Andreas Gross (Switzerland, SOC), one of the PACE co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of the honouring of obligations and commitments by Russia, will make a fact-finding visit to this country on 16-17 July, with a view to preparing a report to be discussed at the next session of PACE. During his visit, Mr Gross will meet representatives of the State Duma, the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court, and of the Prosecutor’s General office. Talks are also scheduled in Nizhniy Novgorod.

Josette Durrieu (France, SOC), PACE rapporteur for post-monitoring dialogue with Turkey, will undertake a fact-finding visit to Ankara and Istanbul from 18 to 21 June 2012. Talks are planned with the President of the Republic and with the Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Justice, and Family and Social Policies of Turkey.

After meeting with former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in the Kharkiv hospital where she is being treated, the rapporteurs said they were glad that she is now receiving proper medical treatment under the supervision of doctors she trusts.
