The Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly today elected Lado Chanturia as judge to the European Court of Human Rights in respect of Georgia. Mr Chanturia obtained an absolute majority of votes cast.

The Assembly today elected two new Vice-Presidents: Nicole Trisse (France, NR) and Marija Obradović (Serbia, EPP/CD). Twenty Vice-Presidents are elected annually at the beginning of an ordinary session.
