The Council of Europe Flag of honour was awarded to the Italian municipality of Farnese on 21 September. José Mendes Bota presented this distinction to the European committed municipality of Farnese.

The Council of Europe Flag of honour will be awarded to the German municipality of Gotha (Thüringen) on 26 September. Marlene Rupprecht, will present this distinction which recognizes European efforts of this city.
