The Assembly,
Having regard to its Opinion No. 6 (1953) on the principles governing relations between the Council of Europe and international non-governmental organisations;
Having regard to the conditions jointly laid down by the Committee of Ministers and the Assembly for the granting of consultative status to such organisations;
Having regard to the applications submitted by the organisations concerned,
Recommends that the Committee of Ministers grant Consultative Status Category B to the following organisation: The International Union of Family Organisations.
Explanatory Memorandum (by M. ROLIN, Rapporteur)
Order No. 55, adopted by the Assembly on 28th May, 1954, on the Report of the Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges (Doc. 255) relating to the procedure for the examination of requests for consultative status with the Council of Europe, provides that applications for consultative status from international non-governmental organisations shall be examined by a Committee consisting of the Chairmen of the Committees, under the Chairmanship of the President of the Assembly.
This Committee met on 24th October, 1955 to examine the request for consultative status submitted by :
The International Un'on of Family Organisations.
After taking note of the opinion of the Committee on Social Questions, the Committee of Chairmen unanimously proposed to the Assembly that the foregoing Recommendation be sent to the Committee of Ministers.
For information, the Committee set up to examine Requests for Consultative Status from International non-Governmental Organisations submits to the Assembly an appended list of international non-governmental organisations having consultative status with the Council of Europe, and details of the action taken by the Committee of Ministers in regard to the recommendations of the Assembly concerning the granting of consultative status.

| III. The Assembly recommended that consultative status should not be granted to the following organisations : | |||

| On 9th July, 1955, during its Seventh Ordinary Session (First Part) the Assembly recommended to the Committee of Ministers that : | |||

| (1) Association of Institutes for European Studies | (1) At their 34th meeting (4th-13th October, 1955) the Ministers' Deputies decided to grant this organisation (Consultative Status Category A). (Resolution (55) 20). | ||
