“The most destructive Russian bombing of Kyiv since the start of the war of aggression against Ukraine took place overnight on 28 August: sources report 23 deaths, including four children, and dozens more wounded,” today stated Piero Fassino (Italy, SOC), rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on the political consequences of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
“The Kremlin press secretary’s claim that Russia is interested in continuing the negotiation process is both mocking and offensive. Vladimir Putin doesn't want peace, but rather the surrender of Ukraine, brought to its knees by the bombs. There can be no surrender, and Ukraine must be supported in defending its freedom and independence,” he said.
