As a result of the Russian Federation’s aggression, the Ukrainian
population has been living and suffering since 24 February 2022
from the terrible consequences of the war in connection with the
fighting and bombing: anguish, traumatic stress, loss of loved ones,
physical injuries, deprivation of all kinds, violence, etc.
The war has driven millions of people from their homes to
seek refuge wherever they can. More than a million of these displaced
people have managed to find relief and protection in nearby European
countries, including Poland, Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
The humanitarian consequences and the internal (internally
displaced persons) and external migratory phenomena linked to the
conflict should be established, in order to draw up proposals on
the solutions to be found and the means to be mobilised in the long
term to respond to all the challenges caused by the Russian Federation’s
aggression against its Ukrainian neighbour and its innocent population.
