The Assembly,
Having regard to Recommendation 148 on the location of European institutions, which was adopted on 25th October 1957 ;
Reaffirming its view that it is desirable for as many European organisations as possible to be located at the same place in order to ensure closer relations between them, greater unity of purpose, increased efficiency and economy;
Considering that the Foreign Ministers of the six member countries of the Coal and Steel Community, the Common Market and Euratom decided at their meeting on 6th and 7th January 1958, to consult the Single Assembly of the six-Power Communities on the suitability of the various towns which have been put forward as possible sites,
Instructs the Political Committee to reconsider Recommendation 148 as soon as the Single Assembly of the six-Power Communities has expressed its opinion and, in the light of tins opinion, to put forward such recommendations as it may think fit concerning, in particular, the site of the wider European organisations.
