The Assembly, referring to its Resolution 990 (1992) concerning the political consequences of the Maastricht Treaty and considering the major importance of this treaty for the future of European construction, instructs its Political Affairs Committee and its Committee on Economic Affairs and Development to monitor closely the evolution of this question and to report back to the Assembly in due course.
