Since Russia has started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, many children have had to leave the country urgently. For various reasons, there are unaccompanied and separated children among them.
Children who are abroad unaccompanied, due to their age and psychological state, cannot always declare their intention to be reunited with their families.
Unfortunately, Ukraine has no data on whether all Ukrainian children who are on the territory of other States are currently reunited with their families, or other legal representatives, nor does it even have information on their location.
There is also no data on how the tracing procedure for the family of the unaccompanied child takes place.
In the absence of complete information on the categories of Ukrainian children abroad who are classified as unaccompanied and separated children, difficulties arise in ensuring their right to a family and in taking appropriate measures to trace their families in Ukraine.
Mr Sushko
To ask the Committee of Ministers:
Would it be possible for the Committee of Ministers with the Office of the Secretary General to assist Ukraine in exchanging data on separated and unaccompanied children with receiving countries to ensure the child's right to a family?
