Spain signed and ratified the Council of Europe Convention on Access to Official Documents (Tromsø Convention), which is in force since 1 January 2024. Article 14 of the Convention stipulates that “within a period of one year following the entry into force of the Convention in respect of a Contracting Party, the latter shall transmit to the Group of Specialists a report containing full information on the legislative and other measures taken to give effect to the provisions of the Convention”, as well as an update of the information before each meeting of the Consultation of the Parties.
