Explanatory note
The EU-Turkey deal is already being conducted in full respect for the human rights of every person needing international protection. The Syrians received from the Aegean islands account only for 0.07 per cent of the Syrian population in Turkey.

Explanatory note
Turkey is already guaranteeing that asylum seekers have access to an effective asylum procedure which respects the non-refoulement principle. Once registered, Syrians are entitled to receive health and education services free of charge and can apply for a residence permit. Syrians in Turkey exceed 3.5 million.

Explanatory note
Turkey has been pursuing an open-door policy since the onset of the Syrian crisis. There is not a case of preventing Syrians from claiming their right to protection. The fact that there are already 3 589 384 Syrians in Turkey clearly demonstrates that Turkey pursues an open-door policy.

Explanatory note
It should be noted that Turkey offers effective asylum procedures to refugees and they enjoy all rights under the Geneva Convention. Furthermore, this Agreement should be implemented in full respect by the EU side as well. Turkey is already fulfilling its commitments.
