The Assembly,
Aware of the growing political importance of scientific activities;
Convinced of the need for European co-operation in the field of science;
Considering that such co-operation would be facilitated by a greater knowledge of the problems of scientific research on the part of parliamentarians;
Having noted with interest the activities and results achieved by the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee set up by the British Parliament;
Considering that it would be useful for all the European Parliaments to have permanent links with scientific circles so as to enable their members to be properly informed on present-day scientific questions,
