Strasbourg, 11.04.2013 – Jean-Claude Mignon, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), is to make a working visit to Moscow from 14 to 17 April during which he will attend the 10th Council of Europe Conference of Culture Ministers at the Bolshoi Theatre and will hold high-level bilateral meetings with members of the Russian Government.
The ministerial conference, on 15-16 April, will bring together Culture Ministers from across Europe to discuss the governance of culture, and promoting access to it. On the afternoon of Monday 15 April Mr Mignon will chair the first of three sessions on the topic “The role of governments: new challenges and opportunities”.
On the following day he is due to hold bilateral meetings with the Speaker of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin, and other high-level officials.
At 1.30pm on Tuesday 16th April, the President will give a press conference alongside the Culture Minister of the Russian Federation and the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
