Strasbourg, 17.05.2013 – Around 100 parliamentarians from across Europe, media experts and NGO representatives are to gather at the House of Commons in London on 21-22 May for a conference on the role of national parliaments in media regulation in Europe.
The conference, due to be addressed by Commons Speaker John Bercow, features sessions on:
The conference is organised by the Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) with financial support from the Open Society Foundation Media Programme, and hosted by the House of Commons.

The conference, with the exception of a closed meeting of the committee (4.30pm, 21 May), is open to the press. It takes place in the Attlee Suite of Portcullis House, House of Commons. Media wishing to attend are invited to indicate their intention in advance.
