PACE to observe the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova

A 21-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), headed by Chris Said (Malta, EPP/CD), will travel to the Republic of Moldova from 26 to 29 September to observe the parliamentary elections alongside observers from the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament, and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

The delegation will meet representatives of political parties and coalitions – including non-registered ones – the Chairperson of the Legal Committee on Appointments and Immunities of the Parliament, the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on 28 September.

A member of the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.
