A 20-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Elisabetta Gardini (Italy, ECPA), will travel to Morocco from 21 to 24 September 2026 to observe the conduct of the parliamentary elections.

The delegation will meet, in particular, the Director of Electoral Affairs and the Director of Public Freedoms and Civil Society at the Ministry of the Interior, the President of the National Council of Human Rights (CNDH) and the President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), as well as the parties standing in the election and representatives of the international community, civil society and the media, before observing the ballot on Wednesday 23 September.

An expert from the Venice Commission – the Council of Europe's group of independent legal experts – will provide legal support during the visit.

Following a pre-electoral visit from 31 August to 2 September, a PACE delegation issued this statement.
