Strasbourg, 12.02.2013 – Lord John E. Tomlinson (United Kingdom, SOC), rapporteur of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will make a fact-finding visit to Turkey on 14 February 2013, in preparation for his report on “Increasing drug traffic from Afghanistan as a threat to European security”.
In Ankara, talks are scheduled with the Minister of Interior and representatives of the National Police, the Directorate General of Customs Enforcement, the Coast Guard Command, the Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction, as well as with representatives of the International Academy Against Drugs and Organized Crime.
