Strasbourg, 11.04.2013 – Marietta de Pourbaix-Lundin (Sweden, EPP/CD) and Mailis Reps (Estonia, ALDE), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on the honouring of obligations and commitments by Ukraine, will visit the country from 14 to 16 April 2013, to assess the constitutional reform and the reform of the Criminal Code and the Prosecutor’s Office. They will also examine the situation of imprisoned former government members.
In Kyiv, the co-rapporteurs are due to meet with the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the Justice and Foreign Ministers, the Prosecutor General and the Ukrainian delegation to PACE. Talks are also scheduled with the defence lawyers of imprisoned former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, and with representatives of the international community and civil society.
